And we begin..

Yesterday, we started to deliver our dishes to various places. It was a very good start for us considering that we were just testing the waters. Waking up at 5:30AM then buying ingredients, we started the ball rolling at around 9AM finishing at around 12 midnight. Here are the following dishes that we prepared.

Spaghetti

A party and meryenda dish, we cooked this as per request of a friend. She wanted to serve spag as meryenda to the panelist for her groups’ defense. Although we were pressed for time since she needed us to deliver it by 9AM, we were able to get their in time with time to spear. We packed the dish and offered it for meryenda as well.
Pork Caldereta

One of our main course yesterday, we prepared 2 kilos of the dish and delivered it to various places. This dish is a best seller, I didn’t believe it at first, but when we were able to get feedback and tasted the dish myself, I became a believer. We used the dish as a barometer for future endeavors because we wanted to know if the dish would past get past the concept as just being lunch or dinner for our families. It was great to know that we passed the test and our customers are looking for more.

Lumpiang Shanghai

This is one of the specialties of the house, we prepared a kilo of this dish and it sold like hotcakes! Paired with the Caldereta as the main course, I never thought of it as an ulam, I’ve always ate it as is, sort of meryenda style. Served with a homemade Sweet and Spicy sauce, it was good.

Turon

A popular meryenda, this was the first dish that sold out. We were able to produce at least 32 pieces, and it was gone after lunch. It was gone so fast that we were not able to take a picture of it and post it here!

Ube bibingka

Another meryenda that we served yesterday, we tried to make sure that we have a lot of dishes to choose from. Be prepared it as pleasing as we can to entice customers to purchase it, and it worked.

This article may sound as if it was smooth sailing, but since it was our first day, it was not. However, it was fun, running around to get the job done, preparing the food as efficient as we can, packing it, being careful not spill and even delivering it was just a few things that we made sure we were perfect. As the saying goes, “First impression lasts”, and hopefully we gave a good one. It was a learning experience as well for us since this is the first time we made dishes not only to satisfy our families tummy but to satisfy different individuals as well.

Baked Tahong with cheese and garlic butter sauce

Good day! We would like to introduce our first dish, our homemade Baked Tahong. We thought of this just today as a matter of fact, Initially, we were just thinking of what to eat for dinner, after seeing it being served on the dinner table, we thought this is a good dish to show you and make available to order.  Imagine a half shelled Tahong, cooking it with a garlic butter sauce, grating cheese over it, and then baking it in the oven. Smelling the enticing aroma that it produced, wouldn’t it be mouth watering?

For some of us, baking the shellfish is not really a dish that you would serve often; normally it would be served with a soup, cooked with garlic, onions and ginger. It is sometimes considered a party dish. We thought, “You don’t have to be in a party to get to eat it as a normal dish”. You can actually eat it on a normal basis. We partnered it with a simple creamy mushroom soup and hot rice and voila! Stress gone, tummy satisfied.

We really hope that you guys will be able to experience our Baked Tahong. We will be glad to serve you as you please. And again, if you have suggestions or would like to try our dishes, feel free to do so. We can prove to you that simple dishes can be turned into something extraordinary when it is prepared and cooked from the heart.

Thank you for taking time to read our posts everyone! Till next time! Let's Eat!!

The Birth of Food Pinoy

Good day! You just have witnessed the birth of Food Pinoy, a simple yet informative blog site wherein we will show case the different dishes that we can offer. The idea of creating our own way of sharing dishes started December last year during an apartment wide Christmas Party. Everyone sharing the best foods that they can offer, after which everyone started shouting FOOD BUSINESS. After careful planning by a handful of individuals, we decided to make this idea a reality, thus, today Food Pinoy was born!

In this site, we will provide you an assortment of dishes that you can sink your teeth on. What we did was to serve our dishes exclusively here in our apartment complex located in Marikina. Just to give you an idea how we do things, yesterday we decided to have ourselves a BBQ eat - all - you can spree, starting 10AM we started making BBQ liempo. From a simple dish, it started the ball rolling. After which, ideas started coming in, we made a pinoy version of an american style barbecue but with a different twist, all sea foods. From "Tahong", "Halaan", squid to Bangus from Bulacan. Everyone started pitching in on their own "sawsawan". It was a feast indeed, even the unpredictable weather did not stop us. After the food was gone and 1 case of beer emptied, bellies were full and a lot of bonding time was done, we enjoyed ourselves adding Barbecue meals to our list of dishes.

We shared this to you to show you how we turn a small event into a feast. Then we thought, if we can do this in such short notice, why can't we exploit this make this experience known for everyone so that you can experience it as well. As we all know, we Filipinos have a big appetite, we love to eat, so why not share the talents of our "Apartment Chefs". Everything that we will post in this blog would be available to you, all you have to do is to contact us and we will make it happen.

In the next couple of days, we will post different dishes, may it be appetizers, main course or desserts and give you an overview on how we will make it available and how we came about making it. What will set us apart from the rest are, first, we serve it from the heart, as cheesy as it may sound, it's true, all of us here are passionate chefs, we don't think about how we will earn but how much our food would make an impact on the person eating it. Second, we make All Homemade Dishes, imagine thinking of what to serve to your family, that is how we do it, we don't serve food that has been made to just fit the budget and profit out of it, we make it so that you will enjoy it, and lastly, healthy foods are what we make, we don't just offer red meat dishes, we can make vegetable and fish dishes as well.

Hope we were able to provide you a good idea on what we are all about. Stay tuned for our next post, again, have a good day (or night). Until next time, Let's Eat!!.
